Queen’s Bath – as the name suggests was a bath/swimming pool meant for the Royalty of the Vijayanagara Empire. It is part of the Royal Enclosure and does not contain any water now. It is not a ticketed monument and entry is easy from the road. You can park your vehicles not far from the monument and walk up to it.
Water was moved into this bath through a series of aqua ducts that can be seen on the outside. Also visible are the drains to empty the bath when a change in water was necessary. The monument is rectangular in shape and contains many seating and viewing windows. Notable are the arches that have resounding similarity to Lotus Mahal.
The blackened moss and beige coloured walls combined with a blue sky can be a spectacular backdrop for photoshoots!
